So that time we killed Cloud :|a
SO ABOUT DERA VOTING TO KILL CLOUD IN A HORRIBLE VICIOUS MANNER. This is not a thing that could ever happen in canon because in canon he has Tenth as a guiding figure of goodness and fluff and rainbows to remind him about the important things. Like the fact that getting someone killed for revenge is very bad. The one memory he does have involving anything close to the issue of death is the one where Tenth called him back from a situation he would have definitely died in, so he knows dying himself is bad. But he also knows he didn't bother to bring Belphegor out of the building. :|a And figures that guy probably died.
And then there's the whole situation in Sabra where some of the games boil down to basically KILL OR DIE or TRY NOT TO DIE. So he's been forced to deal with the concept already. \o/ And blahblah he really does still think of the trickster game Blade was killed in as being different. There was a slim chance with the riddles. \o/ And no one knew it was nonexistant (even though Flowers did say so; HE DIDN'T TRUST HER AT ALL AND DIDN'T HEAR IT. SO IT CLEARLY DIDN'T HAPPEN/DOESN'T COUNT 8|) but Cygnus still made their choice. And being v. angry he just had to have revenge. 8| And what could be more fitting than killing Cloud in the EXACT SAME WAY. SO HE DID THAT and feels way better and ten times less angry at Cygnus over it. He does feel really badly that Wolf got caught in the same death though and will probably just avoid him for as long as he possibly can.
But anyway. The real point of this mini-essay is that Gokudera is getting more and more accustomed to the idea of having to kill people. It is The Way Things Work here, he doesn't have any memory of it being a bad thing, and he hasn't made any strong enough attachments to anyone who would or could conceivably steer him away from that concept. In fact, his strongest attachment is to the vicious crazy viking! Who seems to be preeetty okay with shanking dudes. :|a
He still has some sort of moral code though! It just happens to vary a lot depending on the circumstances, how feasible it may have been to try to save someone, who exactly got killed, etc. :|a Baaasically as long as no one he liked got killed he doesn't care. And as long as there was some attempt at saving them made (if it was feasible to try; it was proven NOT in this beauty/trickster game what with Frey getting lightninged) it sucks but is okay. :|a Otherwise he will be v. angry. Also moral code does not apply to anyone who kills Spiky if that ever happens (WHY WOULD IT). He will find SOMEONE to blame in that case. >E
